revolving door reading series was started at red kiva and then moved to pilsen in a cute little gallery we called home for a while. i've always valued this events because it gives me an opportunity to play whatever i want. how funny is it to still say that? maybe not based the lack of attention span folk have for new or unfamiliar tunes. the meshing of chicago's literary community, brings artists of all types to enjoy each other and allows a very creative styling of tunes. i have once again been called to provide the soundtrack, as revolving door comes out of hiatus.. #walkinswelcome... yay!
last year i traveled with ayodele drum and dance to the woods of wisconsin, to create the soundtrack for a group of magical women for the midwest women's herbal conference. mother mercury put me in the trick bag a bit and i wasn't able to rock based on technical issues. we had an awesome trip and ayodele not only rocked the party but killed all the classes they taught...
on wednesday 2/8/17 i will be joining them at the chicago cultural center for a drum and dj circle. bring your kids, drums and comfy clothing. we are set to have a banging good time..... and we will be headed back to those woods in june too!
