Dj . Music DIRECTOR . Curator . Multi media Artist.
Fathom DJ’s thoughtful approach to sound curation stems from observing and translating a myriad of experiences, as a multimedia artist (visual art, loc stylist, producer and of course as a Dj). Exposed to djing by the city that birthed her, Chicago has molded Fathom into a necessary conveyor for the craft and culture of curating experiences. She not only skillfully marries boundless genres, but pairs playlists, mixes, djs and bands to curate musical activations for new concepts, venues and events. She has expressed her gift in collaboration with a plethora of legendary djs, artists, venues and organizations. Fathom is feverishly focused on continuing to expand the universal language of music, while further extending her influence in hospitality ventures.
Upcoming Events Chicago, Atlanta and....
My desire to present music that furthers dining experiences has always existed. My curating playlists for hotels was rooted in Chicagos South Loop Hotel, long before I entered the Atlanta market. The mix something lovely was created as a love letter to someone I had passion for that was never unleashed, in mid 2000. I created the concept of Lux Listenings as response the overly clubby environments I was navigating in The Happier Hour. I could say I absolutely manifested The Thompson Hotel Lobby and Rooftop in Buckhead based on compiling lightly danceable jazz, disco, brazilian, african vibes, soul and soulful house under the twitch sessions and spotify playlists Sundays Tastings.
We shall further these ideations in a quaint 72 seat space nestled on the edge of Midway Plaisance. It holds a staff with crisp service, a well balanced offering of food, proper cocktail menu and a very small bar. This with an outdoor patio surrounded by the greenery of the midway overlooking U of C campus.
Preparing for more artful sounds, sipping and biting... Lux Listenings Something Lovely is coming August 16th .... @bardavidchicago @luxlistenings We will be the difference
I continue to have to get uncomfy. This because I asked God for several things upon returning to Chicago. Not that I hadn't been asking for forever. What I know now is that I'd forgotten things down that I had written down . Most of them are being referenced now. There is no irony that I have been asked to readdress my love of drawing and painting.
I have become a bit too married to graphic design and its electronic results.
Being "benched" from my biweekly Atlanta lobby activation was grueling. After having been intentional about deciding to paint in the summer of 23, I didn't know what to do with myself but this in March.

Deep diving for inspiration on a hard drive and found a tune dated back at least 17 years. Just in case you weren't aware that it exists, it's worthy of being rotated. One night at a studio on Green St. just south of Chicago and Halsted, I brought drums from my mpc and Tunji began crafting chords and arrangements around them. Lyrics started coming to me and we pretty much birthed this girl in one sitting.... She is now available on bandcamp and you have an opportunity to support my desire to remain a producer of original music.
My disdain for the current playing field of djing is growing. In 2022 when I decided to move back to Chicago, I knew I would need a different level of association in order to connect my imagination and associations for my love of music... @StreetArtDJ is where I've been growing content. My gallery / store is here for your viewing and inquiries. Yes this means I am looking for placement in hospitality spaces and galleries.
