MUSIC, MY LIFE & MORE...
Josh’s music shows the perfect balance of spirituality, reality and sensitivity akin to the likes of Stevie, Earth Wind and Fire, Curtis Mayfield and Donny Hathaway. In my opinion he represents a necessary voice for maturity in men. Listening to his tune "Here With Me" sets the stage for a much needed communing of men, black men to be exact. I’d love to hear men sing his songs with the level of passion and care as a means to express a desire for oneness. A much needed oneness in our various causes. This voice and narrative is underrepresented in popular music of today. In dance music form, it adds a level of fun, to what might considered more ballads ie SONGS, not tracks. One has to wonder if Josh Milan were creating during the era of these greats would he receive more acclaim...
My approach in salutes of particular artists is spawning. My uncomfortableness about this series, (I typically hate tributes and heavily themed music events) is creating a desire for more dialogue in the framing of Lux Listenings (and its growing concepts).
