My thoughts about this artist being compared to Sade?
I can’t help but wonder if there’s a way to cleanse the ears pallet, as you would do with food or drink. I sit in the quiet a lot (yes it’s hard lol). I’ve been throwing myself into wild card genres and artists just to learn and grow lol. Should I be comparing this effort to all the other artists and sounds I’ve experienced? Would the fact that I can hear the likeness of Tems so distinctly that I have to dig further in and see if she’s credited on SOME tracks or ghost featured? Because she’s not listed on the song, I could swear she’s on. 🤔 Is this to be considered flattery? There is a mood and tone that definitely gives Sade, but then there’s Snoh Allegra. And yes I pick up many of her notes here as well. They all sat in the class of Sade and craved to be seen in her light. I’m trying not to have old ears lmao. My ears made my hair stand on my legs, when I first heard ON and ON by Erykah. This because I KNEW Billie was smiling somewhere. Erykah grew away and created a lane for herself because well… she is an artist. I guess we will wait and see with Naomi. I’m choosing my words kindly, because I know that the future would be nothing without great influence. My hair isn’t standing on my legs though. This doesn’t mean I don’t like the project. The recipe has genre pairings that are all too familiar (predictably) and while the acoustic and more “live” instrumentation hold more of my attention and focus, I’d like to hear Naomi with an all live band that has IT’S own personality. My bad that band IS SADE. Finding that she is signed to Drake only adds to the understanding of his fascination with Ms. Adu. It also furthers my wondering into AI and it’s falsities. Its easy to accept🤣🤔. I’ve added a few of the tracks to Sundays Tastings Collection. We shall reconvene and dissect fully … soon. : : #findingfathomdj #musicreview #newmusic #naomisharon #sade #sundaystastings

She was adorable to look at in all of her racial ambiguousness, but having heard every iteration of Sade and everything Sade adjacent artists from Corrine Baily Rey, Lianne La Havas, and Mike Milosh from the group Rhye, I found nothing about this new artist that was convincing enough to hear past the one or two videos on YouTube.com.
