My Latest release and current state...

​My final years in Chicago were very telling. There were many things that lead me to determine I was in need of a major change. I was in the midst of creating what would be my first ep. Going back and forth to Roseland to record, grabbing bass lines from email, obsessed with daily tinkering of drums and long keyboards sessions. My  really telling interaction with a difficult vocalist trying to nail the delivery of songs. Songs that had to be quickly transferred, during a hiccup on my computer. Songs that ended up on hard drive that failed during the course of my move. I didn’t have time to feel about the fact that I had to part with so much music, from my many years of vinyl collecting, less known those originals.


Real tears I cried sitting in Atlanta, when I stumbled on this song that was closest to being complete. A bounced copy spruced up and sent to bandcamp. I had no plans on sending it to major platforms.


Now a most different season, I’m being lead to believe that no one wants to hear real instrumentation, in dance music. That laid back lounge style house has no place in the narrative of house music, based on everyone’s need to be hyperactive and bang. This theory is being supported by those who lack understanding of the difference between bars, lounges and club experiences. Venue owners desperate need to draw massive amounts of people (money) to sustain themselves and have strayed from curating  mature spaces, that lend themselves to appreciation of amazing decor,  to pair with more deep underground vibes. I am being told to create less thought provoking sounds and go for the mindless, less articulate styles. Hooky and catchy. I set here now crafting newer pieces know that soul is on a respirator being shared by tons who have forgotten what fresh air smells and tastes like, if you get where I’m coming from.
The song Spawn of the Dawn is now on Traxsource and all other major platforms. It is prophetic in a way, as I have yet to HERE.
